Janet Scott

Profile :

Dr Janet L. Scott, FRSC, is a Group Leader in the Centre for Sustainable Chemical Technologies and Training Director of the Centre for Doctoral Training in Sustainable Chemical Technologies at the University of Bath, UK. She received her PhD in Chemistry from the University of Cape Town, South Africa in 1995, while holding a lectureship.  Later roles have included: R&D Manager, Fine Chemical Corporation, S. Africa; Deputy Director of the ARC Centre for Green Chemistry, Monash University, Australia; Marie Curie Senior Transfer of Knowledge Fellow in Green Chemistry, Unilever R&D, UK; and Director of a consultancy company, JLS ChemConsult Ltd.

Janet has published >100 papers and patents, two co-edited books and a number of book chapters.  Her current research is focused on greener materials from renewable resources and is funded by the EPSRC, British Council, BBSRC, Innovate UK and Industry.
